TARIERE blogged about US!!!!!

She is cute, smart and comes from a great family, so when she informed me two years ago about her desire to invest in developing the poor sanitary conditions in Lagos State; i had a nostalgic moment and my admiration for her grew.
Lagos State is replete with examples of areas run-over by dirt. The slumps of Makoko and Dustbin Estate are good examples. The Lagos State government has been very conscious of the poor state of the environment and with institution’s like the Lagos State Waste Management Authority(LAWMA) the government has been tackling the refuse pandemic. However, despite the Lagos State government efforts, it is only a secondary control measure to a primary problem. The root cause of the unclean nature of Lagos State and indeed the rest of Nigeria is the habits and attitudes of the people. The culture of dropping litter on the roads and the disregard of safety measures in the disposal of waste is deeply entrenched in the attitudes of Nigerians. It therefore suffices to say that a permanent remedy is a cure of the mind.

For the love of Nigeria- Benefit Dinner

The Kids Clean Club is a Non-Governmental Organisation that aims at raising a generation of physically, mentally and environmentally clean children across Nigeria and the World.
We intend to do this by creating awareness amongst children, about the effects of pollution and global warming, and how they can make a change in their environment and going a step further to teaching them about patriotism, etiquette, motivation, dignity, integrity, savings, and at the same time harnessing their God given talents.
In February 2012, The Kids Clean Club will be holding a Fundraising /Benefit dinner tagged ‘For the love of Nigeria’.
We intend to raise 50million for the Organisation to bring to fruition our 20month plan.
Benefits include networking at the dinner, an opportunity to showcase your business at our event stands (the price list will be made available on request) and also firsthand information of events the organisation and other affiliated companies organize
If you would like to be part of the planning committee please contact us
We would love to have you!
